Here's the vivo X200 Ultra dedicated camera button

2025-03-28

Vivo"s upcoming uber flagship, the X200 Ultra, will have a dedicated camera control button on the right side of the frame. It was speculated that the phone would get an Action Button instead.

The reveal comes from vivo"s Product Manager Han Boxiao on Weibo, where he sized up the vivo X200 Ultra to the iPhone 16 Pro Max and its camera control key. Both are on the lower right side of the frame. Han Boxiao says that the X200 Ultra"s camera button is dedicated to taking pictures and will adjust parameters.

The button has a blue accent, and Boxiao says it has a long sliding stroke, but we"re not sure whether that implies swipe functionality.

A side note of the image above is that the vivo X200 Ultra has a flat frame with a slightly brushed finish. It appears to be slimmer than the iPhone, too.

The vivo X200 Ultra will launch in April, which is earlier than its predecessor, which arrived in June.

Vivo will downgrade the 1-inch main camera to a 1/1.28-inch Sony Lytia LYT-818 sensor (like the one in the X200 Pro), but will upgrade the ultrawide to the same LYT-818 sensor, making it the largest-sensor ultrawide in a phone by far. The third camera will remain an 85mm zoom with the 1/1.4-inch Samsung HP9 sensor.

Vivo will upgrade the cameras on the hardware level with two dedicated imaging chips - the post-processing vivo V3+ and the new VS1 in charge of pre-processing parameters - exposure and focus, colors, image stacking, etc.
